Develop Devices Faster
Only recently have both computational power and advanced FEA theory, such as the large deformation, fully coupled, thermo-poromechanics FE code recently developed at the University of Colorado, has been developed with the ability to capture the challenging coupled multi-physics that occur in biological tissue.
Structural Integrity is working to commercialize and extend its FE capabilities to simulate a wide range of surgical and medical procedures. Through these capabilities, SI helps drastically reduce the amount of time it takes for a product to reach market by using simulation to reduce the time of a design cycle.
Time to bring a product to market
In 2010 it took an average of 31 months to take a 510(k) product and 54 months to take a PMA from concept to FDA clearance.
Predictive Modeling provides device designers the ability to optimize their designs, by examining the impact of design changes and predicting device procedural outcomes without the added cost and time of conducting experimental studies.
